Some people might have know this while others might not.īut I do think that this is the best (and most legal) solution for aspect/wide-screen problems. Note: 'Maintain aspect ratio' will still blow AoE up to full screen but will not take it out of proportion like making it wide-screen, when it defiantly shouldn't be. With CCC you have 3 options under "Enable GPU scaling" they are:īasically either 'Maintain aspect ratio' or 'Use centred timings' will force the AoE application not to blow up to full screen but instead they will make AoE the resolution it was intended to be 12 years ago. This tells the computer how it wants to display the application/program on the monitor (screen).
n VIDIA video cards would also have a similar program where the settings can be accessed.īasically, under the screen preferences there is a setting/option to "enable GPU scaling". I have an ATI video card so hence I use the associated ATI software which is known as " Catalyst Control Centre" ( CCC). YAY!!!! I found a solution that allows AoE to not take up the entire screen!!! Which is good because now it isn't stretched over my entire screen.Ī friend told me the solution a while back but I only recently remembered.
